Documentary + Editorial love stories

Candid, modern and creative. A background in documentary photography and a lover of cinematic, natural light.

I’m all in on telling the authentic story of your day, laughter, tears, chaos, the lot!

Each wedding is totally unique and an opportunity to craft a timeless heirloom for generations to come.

UNPOSED MOMENTS with an editorial touch

I take a story-driven approach to your wedding. My style is mostly candid, with some gentle direction when needed most, giving you a set of images that feel uniquely yours.

I don’t believe in ticking boxes or doing things because thats what you’re mean’t to do at a wedding. This day is a celebration of you and a coming together of families, lets tell this story properly.

“We were thrilled that we chose John to take our wedding photos. He was professional and unobtrusive and put us at ease right from the first meeting.”

“John was super laid back but a complete professional. His modern style of photography suited us perfectly.”

a bit about me…

Originally from Cardigan, West Wales, I’ve called Swansea home for most of my life. My relationship with photography began with first skateboarding, then music. The two worlds were a portal into which I discovered a wider fascination with culture, art and travel.

After completing a degree in Documentary Photography, I spent some time working in London for the Financial Times, both as a picture editor and photographer, some commercial assisting followed and then began my dive into the world of weddings.

Fast forward to now and I’ve been a professional photographer for over 10 years, in both the wedding and editorial/commercial worlds, now settled just outside the Gower with my wonderful partner and cat.

Yes! I can travel all over the UK, Europe and the Rest Of the World.

Your photos are delivered via your own personal online gallery where they are available in high resolution, shareable with your friends and family and on all devices. Previews are 48hrs after your wedding and full galleries within 12 weeks.

I generally start around 2 hours before the ceremony and continue until after your first dance/bands first set. I believe in telling the full story of your day, without time limits.

Yes, absolutely. I keep these relaxed and efficient so you can get back to enjoying your wedding quickly.

For a full day wedding, you will receive a minimum of 700 images, usually lots more. For a Part Day (6 Hour) wedding, anything from 400 up.

Initially there is a booking payment/retainer of £300. Your remaining balance is then due one month before the date of your wedding. If you would like to spread that into a few payments, just let me know and we can set that up easily. Card payment is also available.

Personally, I believe that you can only really do one at a time and do it well, so I only offer photography. However I often work with lots of great videographers in South Wales and would be happy to recommend some to you.
