Nantwen Elopement: Jo & Ash

For my last wedding of 2023 it also happened to be my smallest! I made my way down to Pembrokeshire for a Nantwen wedding elopement with Jo & Ash.

I’ve been to Nantwen a few times over the years. A lovely venue, full of character and peaceful vibes which make it the ideal spot for an elopement or small wedding.

After the ceremony, which I was also a witness in (Not my first…!) we had a little time to ourselves in the ceremony room to get some shots.

I love having this kind of time and freedom just after the ceremony. Its something that you don’t often have when photographing a conventional wedding with guests etc. So I took the opportunity to try a few things with the big window and a small prism.

Once we were finished at Nantwen, we made the short drive down to Newport Pembs beach. The weather was a bit hectic at this point, absolutely torrential rain and wind which thankfully had blown over by the time we made it to the beach.

The upshot of the stormy conditions meant for some really dramatic skies.

I have to give credit to Jo, she had absoluitely no problem with getting down onto the wet beach and totally embracing the conditions.

It was all worth it as we were gifted a rainbow in the perfect position, these things don’t happen often!
